FaceTime – video calling on iPhone
Video calling will debut on iPhone with FaceTime on iPhone 4. Apple promises that its video calling feature called FaceTime will offer better user experience than available in other smartphones. Apple iPhone 4 is the first iPhone to come with two cameras. Apple iPhone comes with a better camera; the 5 megapixel camera with LED flash will surely offer better quality photos and videos to share. The camera also boasts of autofocus and geo-tagging for photos and videos plus HD video (720p) recording. The second camera is a front facing VGA camera optimised for video calling and chat.
Although the front facing camera is optimised for video calling, FaceTime enables both cameras for video calling. With FaceTime, you can activate any of the two cameras on the Apple iPhone for videocalling with just a single tap. You can show your call mate what is happening on the other side of the room that is making you smile by switching on the back camera with just a single tap. You can switch back to the front facing camera also with a single tap on your iPhone. FaceTime will enable video calling on iPhone only on Wi-Fi, at least for 2010. Note also that FaceTime enable video calling only between iPhone 4 and iPhone 4.
