In October, Google introduced its new flagship Pixel 4 XL. The author of the famous YouTube channel JerryRigEverything – video blogger Zack Nielson – tested the smartphone for strength in his new video.
The first test showed that a 6.3-inch OLED screen with a Gorilla Glass 5 protective glass is scratched by objects with a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale, and pixels burn out over open fire, but after 40 seconds are restored properly.
Pixel 4 XL quickly cracking under pressure. During the test, the metal frame cracked in four different places, and the rear window and screen did not get damaged. Obviously, the location of the antennas weakens the entire design of the smartphone, which makes it easy to bend.
The blogger recalled that, unlike the flagship, the mid-budget Pixel 3a successfully passed a similar test. The author also warns about the possible consequences of an accidental fall of the smartphone, as shock can leave large traces.
In the video, Nielson concluded that today the Pixel 4 XL stands out as one of the most fragile smartphones on the market.
Prices for the device start at $ 799. Earlier, Pixel 4 XL was dismantled by specialists from iFixit: the smartphone surprises with a small Soli radar and a display glued to the rest of the design.
