With 200 million-plus active users, India is the biggest market for Facebook-owned instant messaging app. The country’s favourite chat app supports as many as 10 local Indian languages. These include Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada and Malayalam.

Wonder how one can use WhatsApp in these languages. Here’s a step-by-step guide.

Choose the language of your choice from the Popup that appears

However, readers must note as a general rule, WhatsApp follows the language of the phone. For instance, if you change your phone’s language to Hindi, then WhatsApp will automatically be in Hindi.
