Taiwanese company HTC said that starting today, September 12, began receiving pre-orders for the new virtual reality helmet Vive Cosmos.
The device, according to the manufacturer, is the most versatile VR-helmet thanks to the modular front panels that can adapt to new accessories in the future and allow users to change the device’s functionality depending on new tasks and needs.
The total resolution of the Vive Cosmos screen is 2880 × 1700 pixels – which is 88% more than in the original Vive helmet. The new LCD panels with a denser pixel arrangement in combination with support for real RGB minimize the “mosquito net effect” (screen-door effect) and provide a clear display of graphics and text.
Cosmos is complemented by new controllers with advanced functionality. Vive Cosmos is also compatible with the Vive Wireless Adapter, which provides complete freedom of movement without wires.
During the pre-order period from September 12 to October 6, 2019, helmet purchasers will receive LA Noire action games as well as a one-year Viveport Infinity subscription, which provides access to an extensive game library.
