The Google Issue Tracker service has updated the application “Activation of a dark theme on a schedule in Android Q“. A Google employee indicated that the feature will be available in the next release of Android.
There is no built-in function for automatically activating a dark theme in Android 10, although the introduction of functionality has been discussed in Google Issue Tracker since June 2019. But there is an application from third-party developers that implements the function.
Previously, the company referred to the fact that when switching the theme, the system’s interface is completely redrawn, and if the smartphone is used by the owner at that moment, he may lose the entered text or scroll position.
In iOS 13, which also has a dark theme, you can set any period of time for its automatic activation, or set up switching at dusk and dawn for your current location.
