Goodix Technology, a Chinese manufacturer of fingerprint scanners, has announced plans to mass-produce fingerprint sensors compatible with LCD screens.

Modern technologies make it possible to relatively inexpensively integrate sensors under OLED matrices because of their small thickness. The development of scanners for LCD displays was carried out in 2019, and now a way has been found to reduce the cost of such a product to an acceptable one.

We will continue to supply devices with advanced solutions for biometric authentication, expanding the possibilities of using an ultra-thin optical fingerprint sensor under the display and launching mass production of our optical solution for fingerprint reading under LCD displays.

Commercial devices with similar technology are expected to appear in the second half of 2020.
