At the forefront of the handset sits a Note 9-trumping 6.7in FHD+ Super AMOLED screen that utilises Samsung’s ‘Infinity-U’ display to house its 32MP selfie camera. The screen also features an embedded fingerprint scanner, similar to that found on the flagship Galaxy S10.

Around the back of the Galaxy A70, you’ll find a triple camera array comprising a 32MP main sensor, a 5MP depth sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor which Samsung claims let’s you, er, “enjoy expansive photos that mirror the same viewing angle as the human eye.”

The smartphone runs on an as-yet-unspecified octa-core processor and offers either 6GB or 8GB built-in RAM. You’ll also find 128GB of onboard storage expandable via microSD, a sizable 4,500mAh battery and support for 25W ‘Super-Fast Charging’.

Software-wise, the mid-range runs Samsung’s new and improved One UI on top of Google’s Android 9 Pie OS.

The Galaxy A70, which boasts an, er, “3D Glasstic” rear, will be available in four colours at launch – coral, black, blue, and white. There’s no word on pricing and availability yet, but Samsung is expected to announce more details next month at an event on 10 April.

The launch of the A70 comes just hours after Samsung finally fessed up to how much its flexible Galaxy Fold smartphone will fetch in Blighty. A SIM-free smartphone will set buyers back £1,799, and EE has confirmed that it’ll be offering the bendy blower on contracts when pre-orders open on 26 April.
