Talking iOS 15 with Apple’s Craig Federighi (Interview!)

At WWDC 2021, Apple Craig Federighi gave us a look at iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, watchOS 8, and tvOS 15 – this year’s major Apple software updates.

In this interview, I talk with Craig Federighi about the major theme of social togetherness that is seen across all of the upcoming software releases during the WWDC 2021 keynote.

Features like iOS 15 Share Play that are built into FaceTime, and the Shared with You row that you’ll find in apps like Apple TV app, Apple News, Photos, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Music are meant to give people the feeling of being closer together (even when apart.) SharePlay won’t be limited to just Apple’s own apps — it’s an API that other developers can integrate their services into, and Disney Plus, Hulu, TikTok, and more are already on board.

Apple is also building in the ability to share your screen through FaceTime as well. I also ask Craig Federighi what video he’d play over SharePlay for someone who wanted to get to know him better, and his answer was just SO CRAIG.
